Community Cleaning Services

Community Cleaning Services (CCS) evolved from work sponsored by S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. (SC Johnson), a home cleaning and pesticide products manufacturer and sustainable enterprise leader.  In 2005, SC Johnson sponsored a Kenya-based pilot of the BoP Protocol, a business development process created to help large corporations incubate and grow new businesses focused on developing and emerging markets.

Role: Business Designer and Field Team Member

Worked as a field team member during the pilot of the BoP Protocol in Kenya with SC Johnson.  Recruited local partners, performed ethnographic studies, developed business design and entrepreneurship workshops for local youths, and co-developed the initial business model for Community Cleaning Services.
